Orthopedics and Traumatology Specialist
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Barış Polat, after completing his specialization training at Near East University Faculty of Medicine, passed the European Board of Orthopedics and Traumatology (EBOT) qualification exam in 2017, a test passed by only a limited number of physicians across Europe, thus obtaining an internationally recognized specialization degree in this field.
Throughout his career, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Polat has closely followed technological developments in orthopedic surgery and, as one of the certified physicians in robot-assisted knee replacement surgery, has been involved in one of the pioneering applications in this field in the region. Robotic technology provides millimeter-precise accuracy in prosthesis placement, allowing for personalized surgical planning.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Polat’s academic productivity is also noteworthy: he has numerous scientific articles published in international peer-reviewed journals (such as Cureus, Kuwait Medical Journal, and Acta Ortopédica Brasileira) in the fields of shoulder surgery, knee arthroscopy, hip replacement, and traumatology.
